Packing is sometimes underrated or not thought through well enough. Remember to be as light and practical as possible, every single kilo will matter on your back, arms and shoulders!
Unless you are going to Iceland, you won’t need a long list of clothes, you can always rely on laundry services, or on local markets to buy new stuff.
OUR MUST-HAVE TRAVEL EQUIPMENT
We do have some indispensable tools, so let’s see what we have in our list.
CAMERA – CANON EOS 1300D/REBEL T6
We have our handy Canon EOS 1300D to capture thousands of photographs. We use it for pictures mainly, but it can also record great videos.
Ambra is the assigned photographer, she enjoys this machine a lot, thanks also to accessories like SDHC Memory Cards, Digital DLSR Auto Flash, UV Filter Kit, Telephoto Lenses.
FLEXIBLE TRIPOD – JOBY GORILLA POD
Our Joby Gorilla Pod is a smart handy accessory to stick your camera to impossible surfaces as trees, scooters or bicycles handles, and even stones and rocks! Never worry again about where to set your camera!
RIGID TRIPOD – POLAROID 42″ DELUXE TRIPOD
This is the magic tool behind our WorldKissProject shots you may have seen on our Instagram! Our Polaroid 42″ Deluxe Tripod comes useful everytime we need to take focused photos with both of us in the picture, when we are alone in remoted areas, at the beach, or on top of a mountain!
There’s also Polaroid 72″ Tripod if you want to go higher!
GO PRO – GO PRO HERO
We switch to our waterproof Go Pro Hero when we are about to have some underwater or rainy adventure, or whenever it is not safe or handy enough to use our Canon camera. Perfect for underwater photos and videos, like when we swam with the whale-sharks in Cebu, Philippines!
Get a Floatie if you are afraid to drop your Go Pro into the water like Ambra is!
LAPTOP – ASUS ZEN BOOK
This is for those of you who are planning to travel and live abroad for a long time like we do. You’ll surely need your PC to manage your blog, edit your photos and generally work online. We’ve just got the super slim Asus Zen Book, which runs fastly and powerfully and it’s a valid alternative to Macbook Air.
EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE – WESTERN DIGITAL 4TB MY PASSPORT
Whether or not you have a PC with good memory, a massive portable hard drive will be your personal safe: after a few weeks around the world, you will start to have lots of photos and videos to store, which translates in lots of gigabytes. Western Digital 4TB My Passport Portable Hard Drive is our strongbox, you may be fine with a couple of tera as well Western Digital 2TB My Passport.
MOBILE PHONE – SONY XPERIA XZ
A mobile phone is a must for us, especially to keep our social channels up to date. Still, we are not very keen on splashing 800$ on a trendy device, Edo uses a reliable Sony Xperia XZ that has a great HDR ready camera in case we need a quick snapshot.
POWER BANK – ANKER POWER CORE MINI
A power bank is vital to recharge your devices when there’s no plug sockets. Our Anker Power Core Mini kept our mobile phones going when we were on tiny Pamilacan Island, Philippines, with no electricity!
BACKPACK – DEUTER ACT LITE 40L
Your backpack must be a perfect compromise between capacity and size. Edo has a Deuter Act Lite 40L that was ideal for our travels in Asia. There are bigger versions, but a full 80L backpack will be very heavy on your shoulders!
Don’t forget a Rain Cover to keep your backpack dry & clean!
SMALL BACKPACK – JACK WOLFSKIN STOWAWAY PACK XT 24
We always bring with us an additional small backpack, to use when we hike around. Our Stowaway Pack XT 24 by Jack Wolfskin is extremely light and can be stowed away in a pouch very easily. Perfect when you try to save space!
