PACIFIC HOTEL CAIRNS
Cairns is the major city in Far North Queensland, also called Tropical North Queensland. We prefer the latter expression more because it describes perfectly its whereabouts. Cairns is in fact located at the door step of Australian tropical rainforest, with a warm weather all year round. Other than the rainforest, plenty of unique natural attractions fill the area: lakes, waterfalls, tropical islands, and above all the majestic Great Barrier Reef. With such a wide range of natural beauties to see and an exclusive flora&fauna to protect, we were positively impressed with the eco friendliness of Pacific Hotel Cairns.
RECEPTION
Pacific Hotel Cairns is conveniently located in proximity of the Esplanade, at walking distance from the best restaurants, shops, public areas, and the ocean. An elegant hall welcomes us, with big chandeliers stealing the scene. We notice with pleasure a large common area furnished with tables and sofas, ideal when waiting for tours pick-ups in the morning, when checking out, or to use your laptop and tidy up your holiday digital memories. After a brief professional check-in, we make our way to the second to top floor to reach our room.

BEDROOM
Our Executive Room is at 10th floor, with a nice view over both the city and the ocean. Obviously there’s air conditioned, a TV, a fridge, a safe, room for hanging clothes and soft lights. Everything looks perfect so we can go on to testing the mattress of the huge king size bed: pure smoothness, what a feeling! The room is very bright and cozy, there’s even a lounge area with two armchairs and a table just before our private balcony, overlooking the ocean.
The bathroom is where we first learn about a very cool feature: guests get 10$ bar credit when they opt not to have their towels washed and changed in the morning, a smart incentive to reduce water waste.

POOL AREA
Pacific Hotel Cairns have recently upgraded their offer with deluxe rooms with direct swimming pool access, coming by the charming name of Tropical Luxe Rooms. Don’t miss them if you want to take advantage of the relaxing pool area on floor 2. We planned to stay only half an hour at the pool, but eventually got carried away and spent almost two hours chilling out and enjoying the solar heated warm water!
BREAKFAST & RESTAURANT
The Bushfire Flame Grill is the hotel’s restaurant, located on ground floor, with views over the Esplanade. Other than a plentiful breakfast buffet in the morning, here you’ll be able to taste the award winning Brazillian Inspired Australian Style BBQ. It’s possible to get deals when booking dinner together with your room reservation.

Breakfast Buffet serves continental options and fresh tropical fruit
Pacific Hotel Cairns is the perfect base for your tropical stay in Queensland: simply ask the reception to arrange a tour to any nearby attraction. The hotel is also a short walk to the marina, for cruises and boat tours, other than all night life events in Cairns on and around the Esplanade, such as the night markets and the casino. Cairns International Airport is just 5 km away, you’ll be sitting in your room in no time after landing!
We had a perfect stay in this central located hotel in Cairns, and were truly impressed by the high quality of service combined to the eco friendly imprint.
